Why Are Gas Prices So High?

Gas Mileage Devices

So why gas mileage devices? The price of gas has increased by nearly 200% in the last five or six years - that means the cost has tripled! As a result of this, there has been a great deal of interest in gas mileage devices to improve fuel economy. If you're a motorist who does more than a few miles a week, you'll be feeling the pain of these gas price increases yourself, so you might be looking for ways to improve your gas mileage. So which gas mileage devices are available, and how good are they?

  1. Vortex Generators These devices are fitted to the air intake hose of your car or truck's engine They increase the engine's power by spinning the air and making it enter the inlet manifold more quickly. They are definitely easy to install, and are quite cheap, but they don't really improve miles per gallon that much, and only increase horsepower by a small amount. If you want to improve gas mileage, don't bother with one of these.
  2. Performance Chips You can probably write this idea off straight away of you're interested in improving economy. For a start, they are usually very expensive, and they often require other parts of the engine to be upgraded too, to cope with the extra power. You'd never get your money back with the small amount you might save if you drove the car really carefully. These are for the high-performance guys!
  3. HHO Gas Cells These gas mileage devices work by splitting water into "HHO Gas", which is basically Hydrogen and Oxygen separated from each other. It's also known as "Brown's Gas". Water is H2O, which is two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. Obviously the combustion in your engine needs oxygen, but it is also more efficient when hydrogen is added. This improved efficiency leads to increases in gas mileage. Thousands of these units have been fitted to cars and trucks, with drivers reporting gas mileage improvements of as much as 50% - that's a huge saving on your gas costs!
