Why Are Gas Prices So High?

How To Get The Best Gas Mileage

We all want to know how to get the most gas mileage. Years of cheap oil have made our wasteful driving second nature and with prices rising it is suddenly necessary to be more economical. In this article we will cover some common sense ideas on how to make the most out of the gas you've got.

Maintain your vehicle

Getting the best gas mileage depends on your vehicle running at optimum efficiency. Be sure to have your engine tuned and your air filters checked regularly. Many larger engine troubles can cost you 40% of your mileage. Keep your tires inflated properly. Under-inflated tires will cost you and are not as safe on the road. Use the recommended motor oil for your vehicle.

Filling Up

Most of us can get the best gas mileage by simply taking our time. Rather than pump our gas as quickly as possible, pump on the lowest setting. This easy trick will save you a bundle by putting more fuel in your tank and less fumes. In the winter, fill up early in the morning and that gas in the tank will expand through the warm afternoon.

Drive Safely

Driving within the recommended speed limits will help a lot in getting the best gas mileage. Excessive speeding and stopping will waste fuel much faster than taking your time.

Give your fuel a hand

Getting the best gas mileage with prices the way they are is getting to be impossible. Expensive is expensive, no matter how far you stretch that dollar. As this is becoming more of a problem technology is stepping forward to offer a solution.

The solution is water. Plain simple water.

Water is the best answer to getting the best gas mileage because it's free and simple to use in your vehicle. Imagine getting 50-60% more gas mileage out of a quart of water. Imagine lowering your carbon emissions and ensuring your car runs more efficiently. The motor vehicle industry is quick to tell you to buy a hybrid or switch to ethanol, both very expensive investments, but isn't it better to spend $60-$100 on common auto parts and save money right now? This is the most common sense solution to getting the best gas mileage that I have found and I'm looking forward to seeing more people use it and save.
