Why Are Gas Prices So High?

Why does the left complain about high gas prices?

They stopped the drilling they stopped the refinaries from being built If you freeze the supply but demand is increasing it simply causes the price to go up and is simple economic theory which is a science. Why are they surprised their actions have caused this global slow down?

Public Comments

  1. Common sense makes too much sense for their agenda
  2. They never have looked beyond today when they roll out their cockamamie programs.
  3. No, your president bush signed that into law and issued an executive order reaffirming it.
  4. Because people are forced to drive long distances due to appalling public transport networks
  5. Surely it's the oil companies not releasing more oil? Oil companies can release much more fuel they just choose not to for a profit. Remember that the right also approved of alternative energy sources and shut down of oil networks so as to slow down the effect of global warming. x
  6. Stupid people doing stupid things cause bad results.
  7. I thought we all complained about gas prices. I just want to know why the refineries have not increased the production of gas now that the heating oil season is over?
  8. You have it slightly wrong. The left doesn't complain so much about high gas prices, they complain about George Bush causing them. The left actually wants the prices to go Higher. It's a subtle distinction. Schizophrenic, but subtle. They are NOT surprised their actions have caused this global slow down. They love it. It slows the economy and creates more people who need government help which makes more democrats. They just, happily, want to blame Bush for causing it instead of taking the blame for themselves.
  9. You conveniently forget the other way to do that equation. >You reduce your demand Make the energy sucking death machines that are SUV's illegal Stop building energy sucking suburbs and the roads that go to them Write a provision somewhere in bills that authorize new road construction requiring that a right-of way be set aside for future use by mass transit Maybe we could reduce the demand a bit. Encouraging gluttony is bad public policy
  10. They cannot appear to be unconcerned because I am willing to bet they are getting a lot of heat from their constituents. So now the mountains are in labor and a ridiculous mouse will be born. And we will still have high gas prices when all the uproar is over.
