  1. It's all about money.
  2. they could do something about taxes, but the price of crude and the demand for fuel is out of their hands.
  3. It's called capitalism....Supply is Low, Demand is high. China has started increasing their fuel consumption at a very rapid pace which is taking away fuel usually bound for the United States.
  4. That would mean less money in the pockets of all in the government and we don't want them to be broke!
  5. Well the fact that the environmentalists won't let us drill our own oil in our own country hurts us greatly.
  6. they are all getting rich off of the high prices
  7. as now a days every thing is becoming expensive so the gas prices r also becoming higher.so the main problem is population,non-tax payers, corruption.so ther must removal of these then the country will automatically become like the other countries in the world.
  8. coz at even $3.50 its still one of the cheapest prices in the world.
  9. I am assuming you mean the U.S. Direct taxation of the people is contrary to the original constitution. In addition, Congress is supposed to deal with all legislative matters themselves, but they have been allowed to violate the constitution by assigning many of those duties to government agencies. Eliminating unconstitutional programs and agencies and giving the money back to the people would save American Households an average of $12,000 a year. As for gas prices, the American people can take care of that by using as little gas as possible. Take public transportation, walk, ride a bike, or carpool to work/school. If you can work from home than do it. Plan out trips for running errands to use the least amount of gas possible. Find things to do at home or within walking distance on the weekends or again take public transportation. The United States buys more oil by far than any other country. The oil companies would lower their prices if such a boycott occurred nationwide.
  10. The problem is supply and demand. The thing people do not realise is that supply has stayed the same. Infact there has been a slight increase in supply. On the other side demand is going up quickly. The end result is people are willing the pay more for gas not than they were in the past. Also, even with gas as high as it is now, people are still buying more SUVs than they are buying hybrids. Just looking at that, there is no reason for the gas companies to lower their prices. If people are willing to buy gas at the current price, and not cut down on their ussage, there is not incentive for gas companies to bring he price back down.
