Why Are Gas Prices So High?

What impact would a large Hurricane or two have on the already high gas prices?

I was just sitting here thinking about the high gas prices and the future. I drive a daily route that somedays consists of 200+ miles round trip by the time I get back home. Its my job and im glad to have one. I have cut, trimmed and am doing everything I can to counter the high gas prices.Im now just looking down the road a bit and was wondering, "what impact would a large Hurricane or two, say a cat 4 or 5 in the Gulf do to the already high prices at the pump?"

  1. If a hurricane gets near the refineries and causes damage to them, you will be walking before long.
  2. $10 to $14. a gallon.Next year investors are saying a barrel of oil will be $250.That Means Gasoline $20. a gallon. And damned investors want that.
  3. Lets not think about it. Any reason for the price to go up, it will. Just saying that here might raise prices tomorrow for no reason what so ever.
  4. It really won't make a dent in the actual production of oil. Of course oil companies will use it as an excuse to jack up the price anyway.
  5. Well if you will look back the prices started going up when Katerina hit.of course that just like all increases was just an excuses. They will go up everyday until some one on capital hill does something. They are in no hurry until after the election when McCain takes over.
