Why Are Gas Prices So High?

Do you think gas prices will be lowered or higher or neutral in the near future and beyond?

  1. They are going up, up and away!!!! We will never see 1.75 again!
  2. hopefully lowered
  3. it will go up and continue to go up
  4. That depends on our government. Believe it or not, they hold much of the power over this situation.
  5. If a person like Bush is elected than probaly prices will go up. It's all about the money and who it is going to.
  6. With China entering the oil market as a buyer, the demand for crude will surely rise, forcing the US to find alterative sources of fuel or be forced to charge the consumer higher and higher gas pricees. Eventually the price will be too high and US citizens will find other means of transport...like walking!
  7. they will continue to rise....
  8. Gas will ALWAYS get higher. Simple middle school economics. When supply goes down and/or demand goes up, prices go up. In the near future, spring/summer is here. Prime travelling weather. Do not expect prices to go down again. Even if a 50 billion barrel find appeared tomorrow and was in a location no one cared about, like say, the nevada desert. It would be 10 years before that hit the market, by then, gas will be $20 a gallon or cars will run on salt water.. You pick. :)
  9. Based on the current senario, I believe the gas prices will go up slightly in case of another press release from the government about oil scarcity. If there is no annoucement like this, then gas prices will be hovering at the current price and wil not increase too much. They might go down a cent or two.
  10. Gas prices will continue to be jacked up, then lowered a little, jacked up, then lowered a little. Each time the price goes up, the oil companies cite some BS reason for it...but no one ever questions it much. Price will continue to rise this way as the oil companies have learned that no matter what, we will continue to buy!
  11. Up and away. We are paying $1+/litre in Ontario & my brother who is in Vancouver, BC told me last night it was around $1.30/litre
  12. Once second, let me get my crystal ball. Oho Oho, bad news. oh, wait! wait! I see something. sorry it's corn oil
  13. I hope there will be no gas in the future something has to go in its place that will NOT pollute the earth.
  14. In 2005 gasoline prices broke all records with many paying well over $3 a gallon. Despite the more recent drop in price, I would not be surprised to see it to go up around $4 a gallon in 2006. You really you have to start to think about the price of different types of energy. Everyday it seems like we are hearing about oil prices going higher and higher. As oil prices rise, we can expect to pay more at the pump.
  15. i think they will only go up, time to get a hybird
