What kind of car would be best for someone looking for durability and good gas mileage?
My wife needs a car that gets good gas mileage and is durable and safe. We would like to keep the cost low (under $10,000) and she can only drive an automatic. Any suggestions for make and model? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

- Mazda Protege very dependable car
- Japanese cars are the best in durability but they only sell in central america or south america, but any brand you buy which has less than 2.0cc and 4 cilinder is very economic regarding Gas. The good thing about buying a car in USA is the cars are cheap & you can change cars every 2 years. Toyota,Nissan,Honda,Mazda,Mitsubishi,Isuzu, these are the best brand for quality Japanese cars you can buy atleast in my country, besides they are the ones they steal more in central america ^(Mentioned Brands)^.
- I have a '95 Honda Civic and it gets good gas mileage. Also, it still runs great and the body's in good shape even though its 11 years old.
