Whats the best way to add gas mileage in the most affective way for a 2006 Chevy Malibu?
it only has 30,000 miles and the gas mileage has been reduced drasticly and nothing has chanced on the car.

- Maybe it is time for a tune-up? Also, with the cost of gas increasing, if you usually put say $30.00, it will run out a lot faster, because nowadays you get less for the money. However I am sure it is because it needs the tune-up :) !
- change O2 sensors,tune-up(plugs, air & fuel filters, PCV throttle cleaning, engine decarb.) ,tires at proper pressure. I would think that it is still under warrentee, if so, take to dealer and tell them about your mileage drop.
- How long has the check engine light been on, or barring that, when did your driving habits change? A dramatic drivability (engine) problem or a dramatic change in driving habits (new job perhaps) are the most likely culprits for a drastic change in gas mileage. That or all of your tires are almost flat because like most American's you don't check them once a month like you should and keep them properly inflated.
