Why Are Gas Prices So High?

what are some of the best ways to get better gas mileage.?

Gas prices suck. I need a way to get better gas mileage. I have a Chevy Colorado. Is there anything i can buy for the engine or for the truck in general to help with the mileage. And is there anything i can do while driveing to help. Thanks.

1. Keep the vehicle properly tuned up, maintain a proper alignment, maintain proper air pressure, and drive like a grandma. That seriously is the best advice.
2. Reduce drag to your vehicle. Tano covers are a cheap way to go or hard tops if you have the money. Keep your tires and rims with in the oem parameters. And don't lift it. They will increase drag weight and strain on the engine. Keep up to date on all fluids in the engine. Better spark plugs for a more even burn of your fuel. You can try a throttle body spacer or drop in cyclone device. Circultes air in the process of getting it to the chamber, and again with a better burn. Some of the tuner chips also claim to increase gass mileage. As far as while driving be conservative and give yourself enough time to get to where you want to go.
3. Tons of things!! You can get intake for it, or at least keep your air filter really clean. Check your air pressure in your tires. Keep those full. Also, drive slower. The faster you drive the more gas you use. The higher your RPMs are, the more gas your using. That's all I can think of right now!! Good Luck!!
4. just keep it tuned really well and use a good brand of gas in it,and practice pulling out slower in it,doing jack rabbit starts does use a lot more gas.there's not many things on the market today that actually help get better mileage,driving habits and maintenance is the best thing to know for gas mileage,you can get good mileage from that one ,not the best but good by keeping it tuned up really good,and keeping the oil changed,good luck on it.
